Memphis Indie Films is deeply rooted in the belief that the South has a unique perspective for storytelling. We believe the only place Southern stories can be told with authenticity is in the South. We believe that a fresh perspective on storytelling and film making, detached from the attitudes of Los Angeles and New York, can create unique films.
Memphis Indie Films plans to remain in Memphis and produce films that are deliberetly commercial in nature. We believe films are a culmination of photography, music, paintings, architecture, choreography, theatre, literature, politics and technology fused into a modern and distinct art form. We will rely on authentic southern music to score our films.
Our vision is to move away from traditional methods of distribution and include independent video store owners in our company, bringing in, rather than excluding, small towns and rural areas.
